About me
I’m a PhD student within the Center of Expertise in Photonics (CoEP) at The University of Adelaide, Australia. My main research interests are in novel microstructured fibres (principally soft-glass). In particular, my work focusses on low-index-guiding fibres. e.g. guidance in an air- or liquid-core. This includes photonic bandgap fibres, low-DOS-guiding fibres (which include Kagome, sqaure, etc., cladding lattices), ARROW fibres, chirped PCFs, and more.
For the most part, I’m using this bLog as a bit of an online notebook for storing and sharing computing tips, mostly on using my Dell Mini 9. Other general Linux (and even Windows >_< ) tips will creep their way in, too.
I’m beginning to integrate my work activities in here, as well. To this end, I’ve added a list of my publications to date to this bLog

You are a genius for your instructions to get a non-functioning Xbox wireless controller on Windows 7! Thank you so much. My old one gave out, and the new one that says “Microsoft” and came in official packaging, showed up as Unknown.
